November 29, 2003- Wintry conditions contributed to numerous accidents throughout Gibson County Friday evening. Central Dispatch received 11 vehicle accidents, several slide-offs, and stranded motorists between 4:30 & 6:30PM. State Road 64 was shut down at State Road 65 for about 3 hours after a 4:08PM accident, involving a semi and passenger car. Vickie Johnson, age 40, of St. Francisville, IL. was eastbound in her 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix, on SR 64 when she abruptly went left of center into the path of a 1985 semi driven by Willard Hunley, age 58, of Olney, IL. Both drivers suffered injuries , and were taken to Gibson General Hospital. Later, both were transported to hospitals in Evansville.
