
February 12, 2004- On 02/11/2004 at approximately 12:12AM, Owensville Deputy Marshal Roger Leister and Gibson County Sheriff's Deputy Tony Meredith were dispatched to a possible B&E at a residence on Ivy Lane. Upon arrival to this residence, the officers noticed a strong odor of ether coming from a residence across the street. Officer Leister arrested Mark D. Douglas of Owensville on charges of manufacturing a controlled substance (Class B Felony), possession of anhydrous ammonia (Class D Felony), illegal storage of anhydrous ammonia (Class A Misdemeanor), and possession of regent precursors (Class D Felony). Douglas is being held in Gibson County Jail with no bond. Officer Roger Leister, Deputy Tony Meredith, Deputy Brad Nixon, and Ft. Branch Deputy Marshal Rick Sides investigating the working meth lab. The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was also called to the scene to assist.
