Gibson County Sheriff's deputies Denise Beadle, Doug Dewig and Brad Garnett took a West Memphis, Arkansas man into custody Saturday morning upon investigating a suspicious activity-stolen vehicle incident near Hazleton United Methodist Church. Deputy Doug Dewig's report says Michael J. Mitchell, using an alias, was located after deputies received a report from two Hazleton-area residents they were involved in a fight with a man, and were restraining that person until police arrived. The report says Michael J. Mitchell was lodged in the Gibson County Jail. Mitchell has local charges including receiving stolen property, battery, and intimidation on a police officer. Mitchell is also wanted in Arkansas on an outstanding warrant for charges of larceny and a parole violation
