Sheriff Allen Harmon has appointed 23 year old Tyler Taylor of Princeton
to the post. Taylor is a 2000 Princeton Community High School graduate.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sociology from University of Southern Indiana in 2005. Taylor has been a corrections officer for about a year and a half. Harmon said Taylor will train on the job for about 3 months, then attend the State Police Academy. That announcement Tuesday afternoon, came with news that Deputy Doug Dewig has resigned.
He accepted appointment with Indiana State Excise Police and will be assigned to the Vincennes District.
Dewig joined Gibson County Sheriff's Department in 2000. Best of Luck to Deputy Dewig!!
